Radiologic technologists licensed in Arkansas must complete 6 hours of continuing education (CE) each year to renew their state license. At least 3 of the 6 hours must be in the Radiologic Sciences, covering core areas such as radiation protection, equipment operation and maintenance, image production and evaluation, patient care and management, and radiopharmaceuticals. The remaining 3 hours may be in other health care–related topics.
The ARRT® certification and registration requires technologists to earn 24 Category A or A+ CE credits every biennium. ARRT’s biennium cycle is tied to the technologist’s birth month, beginning on the first day of the month after the last renewal and ending on the last day of the birth month two years later. Failure to meet these requirements may result in probation until the deficiency is corrected.
