Oregon radiologic technologists are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years for each modality they hold on their state license. Of these, at least 4 hours must focus on Radiation Use and Safety. Proof of CE completion must be submitted with license renewal, and licensees must also remain compliant with their national registry. The ARRT® certification and registration requires technologists to earn 24 Category A or A+ CE credits every biennium. These credits can be in any approved topic area relevant to radiologic technology, unless a specific discipline (e.g., R.R.A.® or Sonography) has additional subject-specific rules. ARRT’s biennium cycle is tied to the technologist’s birth month, beginning on the first day of the month after the last renewal and ending on the last day of the birth month two years later. Failure to meet these requirements may result in probation until the deficiency is corrected.
