Texas radiologic technologists face specific continuing education (CE) requirements that can feel overwhelming to track. Between state rules, human trafficking training, and ARRT® renewal, compliance takes careful planning. TakeCE.com simplifies this process with a dedicated Texas catalog that meets Texas Medical Board (TMB) continuing education requirements and is accepted for the ARRT® certification & registration.
Texas CE Requirements for Radiology Professionals
Every 24 months, Texas technologists must complete CE hours as follows:
MRTs (Medical Radiologic Technologists) – 24 CE hours
LMRTs (Limited Medical Radiologic Technologists) – 18 CE hours
NCTs (Non-Certified Technicians) – 12 CE hours
Additional rules:
At least 50% of hours must focus on ionizing radiation in diagnostic imaging or medical treatment.
Human Trafficking Prevention Training (HHSC-approved) is required for all licensees. See free course.
No live or in-person CE is required—all hours can be completed online.
These standards keep technologists up to date on imaging safety and patient care.
How to Report TakeCE Credits in CE Broker for Texas TMB Renewal
Texas Medical Board licensees should be prepared to use CE Broker for continuing education tracking. According to TMB, CE Broker is optional until September 1, 2026, unless you are selected for a CE audit. Beginning September 1, 2026, licensees renewing with TMB must have an active CE Broker account and must make sure completed CE coursework is reported in CE Broker before renewal.
You can use a free Basic CE Broker account. A paid CE Broker plan is not required for compliance.
