Radiologic technologists licensed in Massachusetts must complete 24 CEUs every two years to maintain their state license. At least 10 credits must be in the licensed discipline, 2 in radiation safety, and the rest in related health care or imaging topics. For those licensed in multiple disciplines, 4 CEUs per discipline are required, along with 2 in radiation safety. Mammography technologists must earn 12 CEUs in mammography, 4 in radiography, and 2 in radiation safety. Advanced CPR (ACLS, PALS) may count for 6 CEUs, but only once per cycle .
ARRT® certification and registration also requires 24 Category A or A+ CE credits per biennium. The Massachusetts CE cycle is tied to your birth month, starting on the first day and ending the month before your birthday two years later. Failure to meet requirements places you on probation, where missing CE must be completed with penalty CEUs .
